Robonaut 2, premier androïde spatial

NASA and General Motors have come together to develop the next generation dexterous humanoid robot. The robots – called Robonaut 2 – were designed to use the same tools as humans, which allows them to work safely side-by-side humans on Earth and in space.

R2 ne partira pas avant le 24 février à bord de la navette Discovery (STS-133) pour rejoindre l'ISS à cause d'une fuite d'hydrogène. Sa mission aider les astronautes à exécuter des travaux de maintenance répétitifs ou risqués.
